Turn Childs Drawing Into Gift

Right now, your kids are probably drawing more than ever, and you're running out of places to keep all their works of art.

Here's our handy guide on how to make gifts and keepsakes out of your little ones' creations.

Brighten up the home with a canvas print or send cards to grandparents and loved ones to cheer them up.

How to digitise kid's drawings?

The easiest way is to take a picture with your digital camera or smartphone.

Make sure the camera is steady and focused. Make sure the whole drawing fits in the frame and take your picture. If you need to, crop out any edges so that you're left with what you want printed.

And remember, high-resolution photos will look better printed, so use a good camera and make sure there's plenty of natural light.

The other method is to scan the drawings. This works best for flat pencil or pen drawings as thicker pieces of art with things stuck on or lots of paint will not scan as well. You can scan the drawings using a scanner or a scan app on your smartphone. Scan the drawing as save it as an image onto your device, ready to upload.

How to digitise kid's drawings?

1. Canvas Prints

Scan a drawing or take a high-resolution picture and upload it to create a stunning canvas print of your kid's creation. Hang it on the wall in pride of place to add a pop of colour and personality to your home.

2. Cards

Upload the photo of your chosen drawing onto a greeting card for an original, personal touch. Get your little ones to do a special drawing for each one – perfect for birthday cards or just to say hello to grandparents!

3. Mug

Upgrade your office cuppa with your own personalised art mug! Nothing will cheer you up like seeing your little one's creations printed onto a mug for you to enjoy all day long.

A personalised drawing mug would make a special gift for friends and family members too!

4. Magnets

Are you sticking paper drawings onto the fridge, which fall down, get creased and torn over time? Here's the answer! You can continue displaying your little one's achievements on the fridge for all to see, but in a much tidier, neater way. Transform their drawings into magnets to stick on the fridge and other magnetic surfaces! Just choose a shape, upload your photos onto the magnets, and you're ready to go!

5. Calendar

Got lots of pictures and can't pick a favourite? Why not create a personalised calendar! This way, you get to choose 12 of your little ones' pictures and display one for each month!

Why not get them to do a special drawing based on each month or season and create a family calendar! The perfect indoor project and a great way to teach younger children about months and seasons.

6. Photobook

Again, if you have a lot of drawings you want to keep, a photobook is a great option. You can have up to 100 pages full of your children's drawings, writings and other creative pieces. You could even mix up photos and drawings for a special record of their achievements.

With our auto-complete tool, you can simply upload your photos and create in seconds, or you can spend more time personalising each page – it's up to you!

A book of your kid's drawings will be a truly special keepsake for the years to come – they'll love looking back on it when they're older!
